2024 in review

As 2024 comes to a close, I look back on what I did this year. I spent a lot of time hiking, probably more than any previous year. I got seriously into winter hiking for the first time, and went on my first winter backpacking trip. I finished climbing all 48 New Hampshire peaks higher than 4,000 feet in June. I climbed my first 4,000-footer in Maine, and went back to the Adirondacks for the first time in 7 years. I also went on my first multi-day kayak trip.

In raw numbers, I hiked on 33 days, climbed 54 mountains, and spent 11 nights outdoors. My total distance hiked for the year came out to 267 miles with 84,000 feet of elevation gain.

Here's a highlight from each month of the year.
